ITALIAN OPEN - THE FIRST TIME IN ITALY AND THE HIGHEST PRIZE MONEY EVER

From 23rd to 25th April the first international Racketlon tournament ever will be held in Italy. And what a start it is indeed, the Italian Open Challenger in Milano (Basiglia), offers 4000 prize money + 1000, which is the highest amount ever offered at an international Racketlon tournament.

"We will try to organise our first tournament like a Super World Tour Event and hope to be upgraded by FIR in 2011, says Gianpaolo Matire, Marketing Manager of FIRA Federazione Italia Racketlon.

TOP SPONSORS AND MEDIA COVERAGE

Martire, who will also act as tournament director knows what he is talking about. With already MERCEDES, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DUNLOP, STIGA and CARLTON topsponsors have confirmed, and 2-3 other big names are coming in these days.

There will be very strong media partners: national TV coverage will be guarantee by a SKY SPORT 24 broadcasting before and after the tournament, and a newspaper visibility will be offered by the national newspaper IL GIORNO, one of the top 10 all Italy long.

Also the free press LEGGO, one of the top 3 free press in Italy, will run some articles introducing the event.

The most developed italian tennis magazine, TENNIS ITALIANO (60000 copies every month) will be attending and other local TV (RAI Region) and magazines will take part. Probably a local radio will broadcast live from the tournament.

The closed MULTIPLEX CINEMA MILANOFIORI (18 cinema halls) will be advertising the tournament in every day, every hall, for every film from one week before the starting.

The venue Sporting Club Milano 3 is brand new and there will be four centre courts as well as three extra courts and one practice court in all sports.

An incredible streaming on line and livescoring of all elite matches on the centre courts with Resultreporter and big LCD screens is planned.

2 Swimming pools, open and closed, will be available for the players. And also the gym and sauna. Also a wellness center is on site.

Which international Racketlon players will make their way to Italy is still open, but one has already promised his start if he is fit: World Champion Christoph Krenn. Others will follow knowing that a high amount of prize money can be won, especially for being a Challenger.
